Do you think it's even necessary to run a second relay if you're doing a single pump with nothing special (no Hobbs switch or anything)? It looks like the +12V going to the fuel pump control unit (which is shared with the fuel pump) is already behind the OEM fuel pump relay (link), so installing a dedicated ground should be all it takes, no? I'm a little concerned about there being too much flow for the stock FPR to return to the tank at idle and at 12v, but I know this isn't a problem with the stock pump, and it sounds like it's not an issue with the 485 either.
